Takehiko Inoue

Born 12 January 1967 in Isa, Kagoshima, Japan. Having to choose between his passions for drawing and for sport, Inoue would create SLAM DUNK (Shueisha, 1990 - 1996), the highest selling sports comic of all time (170 Million).

Vagabond (Kodansha, 1998 - 2015) is an adaptation of Eiji Yoshikawa's biography of samurai Musashi Miyamoto.

REAL (Shueisha, 1999 -), a psychodrama about wheelchair basketball.

Inoue would direct The First Slam Dunk (2022), a film adaptation of Slam Dunk's final arc.
